Robert F. Lamprecht

Robert Forest Lamprecht passed away peacefully at home on December 14, 2023, surrounded by his family.

Robert was born March 16, 1946, to Forest and Ruth (Neumann) Lamprecht of Plainview, MN.

He proudly attended and graduated 8th grade from Immanuel Lutheran School in 1960. After graduating from Plainview High School in 1964, he earned his BS degree from the University of Minnesota in 1968. Robert served in the US Army from 1968 to 1970.  After returning to the family farm in Plainview, MN, he married Susan Lacey on December 9, 1972, and was blessed with four children Lara, Rana, Ryan, and Luke.

Robert’s life was guided by his faith. He worshiped at Immanuel Lutheran Church where he was especially fond of singing in choir and organizing the Olde Fashioned Christmas Live Nativity since 1994. Robert and Sue owned and operated the Lamprecht family farms. He liked working with the animals, agronomy, and grain marketing. Robert was a member of and an advocate for the University of Minnesota Farm Business Management Association. He truly valued volunteering—especially with the Wabasha County Fair and the 4-H youth.

He is survived by his wife Sue of 51 years, their children Lara Lamprecht of Arlington, VA, Rana (Tom Becker) Lamprecht of La Crosse, WI, Ryan Lamprecht and Luke (Mary) Lamprecht and three cherished granddaughters Allison, Emily, and Claire all of Plainview, MN; his brother Elden of Oakdale, MN and his sister Leah (James) Fowble of Waldorf, MD. Robert was preceded in death by his parents Forest and Ruth Lamprecht.

The funeral service for Robert will be Wednesday, December 20, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plainview with Pastor Phil Augustine officiating with burial to follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Plainview. A visitation will be Tuesday, December 19, 5:00-8:00 p.m., at Schad & Zabel Funeral Home in Plainview; and one hour prior to the service at the church.
