Robert Potter

Robert F. Potter, 84 of Eyota died on Saturday July 25, 2026, at his residence.

Robert was born May 15, 1942, in Olmsted County to Fay and Doris (Herman) Potter. He graduated from Dover-Eyota high school in 1961 and then served in the United States Army for two years. He was united in marriage in 1965 to LaVonne Selke. Robert was a milk hauler for a short time and then worked at Crenlo in Rochester for twenty-nine years. He then worked as a custodian for the Dover-Eyota schools. His wife LaVonne died in 2003. Robert also shingled with his sons, brother-in-law and special friend Dale. He enjoyed working on cars, fishing, playing cards, and going out to eat and spending time with his family. Robert also took special care of his son Kyle and drove ambulance for the Eyota ambulance. Robert enjoyed meeting his friends for breakfast, to shake dice and solve the world's problems.

He is survived by his two sons Kevin (Terry) Potter of Eyota, Matt Potter (Cari Kuehn) of Rochester, longtime partner Marge Collins of Eyota, six grandchildren Andrew, Jessica, Morgan, Mason, Parker, Kendall and his great granddaughter Kyla. He is also survived by his brother John (Jane) Potter of Plainview, Sisters, Linda (Earl Drenckhahn) Brown of Eyota, Susan Holtz of Plainview, Ann (Eddie Mundell) Roberts of Eyota, and Janet (Russ) Hammel of Eyota. And many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife LaVonne, and son Kyle, and brother Matt.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday August 4, 2026, at Schad and Zabel Funeral Home (115 South Ave. SE, Eyota, MN), a visitation will be on Monday August 3, 2026, from 4:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester with Full Military Honors.
