Ruby Jane Zarling

Ruby Jane (Simanoski) Zarling (99) died on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at Green Prairie Rehabilitation Center in Plainview. Ruby was born to Erna (Simanoski) Nelson on January 6, 1925. She attended country schools and Plainview High School. On October 11, 1941, she married Kenneth M. Zarling at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plainview. They farmed northeast of Plainview for 15 years before moving to town. Mr. Zarling worked for Lakeside Foods, and Ruby worked at Waters Conley/Telex Communications in Rochester for nearly 32 years. Mr. Zarling passed away on October 30, 1974. Ruby enjoyed reading, gardening and doing puzzles. She is survived by three daughters, Jane Haskell and Darlene (Keith) Thompson of Rochester and Bonnie (Bill) Millar of Lompoc, CA, two sons, David (Kathy) Zarling of Rochester and Kenneth A. (Linda) Zarling of Plainview, 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and her mother and stepfather Sammie Nelson. There will be a private family graveside service on May 11, 2024, at Greenwood Cemetery in Plainview with Pastor Philipp Augustine officiating.
