Ruth A. Coffin, 87, of Eyota, died Wednesday May 24, 2017 at Mayo Clinic Hospital-St. Mary’s Campus, Rochester. Ruth was born March 12, 1930 in Clear Lake, Iowa to James A. and Mina May (Harter) Buck. She graduated from Clear Lake High School. On July 16, 1949 she married Clifford Coffin at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They lived in Clear Lake until 1968 when the family moved to Eyota. She worked for Eastwood Bank in Eyota for 19 years. Ruth was an active member of Faith United Methodist Church in Eyota where she was the financial secretary for many years. She enjoyed traveling, dancing, card games; especially bridge and hosting family gatherings. Ruth was an avid Twins, Gophers, Vikings and Iowa Hawkeye fan. Her husband Clifford died October 3, 2015. Survivors include her children; Steven (Maureen) of Solon Springs, WI, Joleen (Howard) Hammel of Owatonna; 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; brother, James Buck and sister, Janette Buck both of Clear Lake, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Robert Buck and sister Helen McEldoon. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 10th, 11:00 a.m. at Faith United Methodist Church in Eyota will Rev. Mark Woodward officiating. Burial is at Oak Grove Cemetery, Eyota. Visitation is on Saturday, June 10th, one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Faith United Methodist Church.
