Sandra “Sandy” Elizabeth Steffen, age 80, died Sunday, July 5th at her home in Stewartville. Sandy was born October 24, 1939 in Plainview to Matthew and Ila (Irish) Lyons. She graduated from Plainview High School in 1957. On July 8, 1961 she married Franklin Steffen at St. Joachim Catholic Church in Plainview and they resided in rural Millville. Sandy was employed at the First National Bank in Plainview until 1974. Her husband Franklin died December 31, 1993. Sandy moved to her current residence in Stewartville in 2003. She enjoyed garage sales, antiquing, playing cards and spending time with her family. Sandy is survived by her children; Melanie (Jim) Parry, Kyle (Stephanie) Steffen both of Stewartville and Brandi (Nick) Grummons of Rochester; grandchildren; Jack, Jordan and Abigail Parry, Hunter Steffen and Harper and Lennox Grummons; siblings; Rich (Tera) Lyons and Theresa (Smiley) Loomis. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 sister Patricia Lingren and 1 brother Edward Lyons. Funeral Mass is Thursday, July 9th, 11:00 a.m. at St. Joachim Catholic Church in Plainview with Father William Becker officiating. Burial is at St. Joachim Catholic Cemetery. A private visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Covid-19 social distancing and the use of a face mask is recommended.
