Shari Sue-Ellen Holzer, 47, died Wednesday October 24, 2018 in Waterville, MN following a lengthy battle with cancer. Shari was born July 20, 1971 in Wabasha. She lived in Plainview until the age of six when she moved to Vasa Lutheran Children’s Home in Red Wing living there until 1992, then moving to REM in Rochester. In 2007 she moved to New Transitions in Waterville. In 1992 she graduated from Red Wing High School. While at Vasa, Shari won many medals in the Special Olympics. She loved clowns, Easter Bunny and Santa in her younger years and was a wiz at puzzles. She is survived by her father John (Diane) Holzer of Rochester; mother Anna Warehime of Oronoco; brothers, Gregory Holzer and Denton (Michelle) Holzer both of Rochester, step-brothers, Scott Doherty of Rochester and Kevin Doherty of Blue Earth; four nieces, Rachel Holzer of Rochester, Kailee Holzer of Stewartville, Avah Holzer of St. Charles and Arianna Fleeker of Rochester; one nephew Kayden Holzer of Rochester; special aunt and uncle Richard and Sharon Osborn of Deadwood, South Dakota; special grandma Carolyn Weber of Byron; and many other aunts and uncles. Preceded in death by grandparents, Kenneth & Minnie Holzer, Frederick (Bill) & Phoebe Rausch, Howard & Connie Holst; aunts Helen Wittlief, Ruth & Mary Rausch, Mary Holzer and uncle Sidney Rausch. Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, October 30th, 11:00 a.m. at St. Joachim’s Catholic Church in Plainview with Father William Becker officiating. Burial is at St. Joachim Cemetery.
