Steven E. Graves

Steven Edward Graves, age 87, peacefully went to be with the Lord on March 1, 2016. He was born October 20, 1928 to Vern and Frances (McDougall) Graves in Fairwater, MN, Winona County. He married Lovilla (June) Hill on November 5, 1949. Together they had four daughters. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, June, his daughters, Linda (Pete) Adamovich of Naperville, IL, Janet (Rick) Blair, Oak Grove, MN, Donna Mihalow, St. Francis, MN, and Cheryl Kuiper, Coon Rapids, MN. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, two sisters, and one brother. He was preceded in death by one great grandson and one son-in-law. In 1968 Steve and June moved their family from Winona to the Minneapolis area, and later retired to Rochester in 1993. He had a good life until Parkinson’ s Disease began to claim his body in later years. Steve and June enjoyed traveling, and spent several of their retirement winters in Texas and Arizona. In 2013 Steve and June moved to Coon Rapids to be closer to their children. Steve enjoyed fishing, playing cards, telling stories of his younger years, always being the jokster making people laugh, and just being with his family. He was a loving husband and father and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Funeral service is Monday, March 7, 11:00 a.m. at Schad & Zabel Funeral Home in Plainview with Mr. Bill Wohlers officiating. Burial is at the Greenwood Cemetery, Plainview. Visitation is Sunday, 4-6 p.m. at Schad & Zabel Funeral Home and 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Monday.
