Tom was born on March 21, 1962, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to the late Bernie "Pete" and Loretta (Schad) Gosse. One of two children, Tom grew up with a deep love for family that would define the rest of his life.
For over 30 years, Tom faithfully served as a Funeral Director at John E. Maloney Funeral Home in Chicago, Illinois. He guided thousands of families through some of their darkest days with compassion, dignity, and quiet strength. No matter the hour, Tom showed up. He believed that presence mattered - and he lived that belief every day.
An artist at heart, Tom found joy in drawing and painting, and in doing whatever it took to make someone smile. He appreciated music in all its forms- from symphony orchestra to Prince. His creativity, humor, and warmth were gifts he shared generously. Tom was also a devout Catholic whose faith sustained him throughout his life.
In his final days, Tom was surrounded by the laughter, love, and prayers of his family- especially Christine Zenk and her family, whose care and devotion will forever be appreciated by the Gosse family. He was a loving partner to Christine, and a cherished uncle, cousin, and friend- affectionately known to many as "The Undertaker."
Above all else, Tom's true calling was being a father and grandfather. Nothing brought him greater pride or deeper joy. He will be eternally loved and profoundly missed by his sons, Thomas James, Jr. (TJ) and Sean; his daughter-in-law, Morgan; and his beloved grandsons, Bo and Jace, whom he adored with them fiber of his being.
Tom was preceded in death by his brother, John Gosse, and is reunited with him in the arms of the Lord.
