Wayne Arthur Pretzer was born September 22, 1938 in Plainview to George and Luella
(Reich) Pretzer. In 1956 he graduated from Plainview High School.
In April, 1958, Wayne joined the US Army and served as a radar technician, until his
discharge in March of 1961.
On June 10, 1961, Wayne married Judith Stoltz at Immanuel Lutheran Church in
Plainview. They have lived there entire married life in Plainview. He was employed by
Weber & Judd in Rochester for 20 years, the MN DOT, and then worked various other
jobs and most recently was employed at the Plainview Municipal Liquor Store. Wayne
enjoyed fishing, playing cards and pitching horseshoes.
He is survived by his wife, Judith of Plainview; 3 sons, Peter (Marion Page) Pretzer of
Oak Park, IL, Matthew (Michele) Pretzer of Rochester and Aaron (Renee) Pretzer of
Plainview; 4 grandchildren, Mason, Madelyn, Molly and Wyatt Pretzer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 granddaughter, Maren, 1 brother, Lyle and
1 sister, Ione Jacobs.
Funeral service will be Saturday, July 12, at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church
in Plainview with Rev. Scott Hirssig officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the
Plainview American Legion.
Visitation will be Friday, July 11, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Schad & Zabel Funeral
Home in Plainview and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
