William J. Schneider, 86 passed away at Parkside Elder Care, Plainview, surrounded by his loving family Saturday April 2, 2016. William was born August 7, 1929 in Plainview, the son of Edward and Helen (Ryan) Schneider. He married Rosemarie Koenig, June 7, 1958, at St. Joachim’s Catholic Church in Plainview, to this union they were blessed with 5 children. William worked on his family farm, then for Pepsi Cola Bottling Company for over 40 years. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was member of the Elgin American Legion. Surviving William is his wife Rosemarie, together they would have celebrated 58 years of marriage this June; their children Cathy (John) Spencer, Oakdale, Jon (Becky) Schneider, Elgin, Debbie Schneider, Plainview, Joe (Doreen) Schneider, Elgin, Dan (Jenny) Schneider, Rochester; 9 grandchildren, Paul, Erin, John David, Dawn, Jay, Nicole, Tony, Nathan and Bryan; 5 great grandchildren Lucian, Liam, Tristan, Wes and Dalton. Further survived by sisters and brother, Ruth Dornack of Plainview, Marie (Robbie) Brown, Rochester, Edward (Ruthann) Schneider of Lake City, Alice (Tom) Howe, LaCresent, Rita (Maynard) Sveen, Elgin, Phyllis (John) Reardon, Eden Prarie. Visitation will be 5-8 pm, Thursday April 7, 2016 at Schad & Zabel Funeral Home, Plainview, and one hour prior to service time on Friday. Memorial Mass will be 11:00 am Friday April 8, 2016, St. Joachim’s Catholic Church, 900 W. Broadway, Plainview, Father William Becker officiating.
