Wilmer H. Fieseler

Wilmer H. Fieseler, age 92, passed away peacefully with family at his side on December 26, 2020 at Chosen Valley Care Center in Chatfield, MN. Wilmer was born September 15, 1928 to William H. and Florence M. (Mills) Fieseler in Ruthven, IA. On January 16, 1949 Wilmer married LaVon M. Griggs in IA. They farmed in north central IA and in 1956 moved to a farm south of Eyota, MN. Together they farmed and raised six sons. They later divorced. On October 24, 1992 Wilmer married Phyliss Cowden. They made their home in Pleasant Grove Township, MN. Wilmer is survived by his sister Ruth Gray of Tilden, NE, and his six sons: Stanley of Spencer, IA, Larry (Marlys), Eugene (Diane), Mark (Shirley Clausen), William (Denise), Kevin (Karen) all of Eyota, 11 grandchildren, and 24 great grandchildren, 3 great- great grandchildren. Wilmer was preceded in death by siblings Anna Irene Gibb, Edward, Robert, Marion, Donald, Joan Marie Nelson-Haas, and Phyllis. Also preceding him in death were LaVon (Griggs) Fieseler and Phyliss (Cowden) Fieseler. In addition to farming Wilmer was employed for many years at Dahlen Trucking of Rochester, MN and at Hammell Equipment of Chatfield, MN until his retirement. Wilmer will be remembered for his sense of humor, his lively spirit, and love for his family. A private memorial service for immediate family will be held at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church of Eyota, MN January 2, 2021. Burial will be in the Crown Hill Cemetery in Ruthven, IA at a later date.
