Yvonne "Bonnie" M. Heddlesten

Yvonne “Bonnie” M. Heddlesten, 84, of Plainview, died Tuesday, October 13th at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester.

Bonnie was born August 30, 1938 in Big Timber, Montana to Floyd and Anna (Strub) Riester. She was raised in Wabasha, MN and graduated from St. Felix High School in 1956. She married Darold Heddlesten on January 4, 1958 in Wabasha and they then lived in Plainview.

Bonnie worked at the Plainview Elementary School and High School for 30 plus years, retiring in 1997.

She enjoyed reading, sewing, gardening, genealogy, traveling, riding her bike and taking walks.

Bonnie is survived by her husband Darold of Plainview; daughter, Dorla (Tom) Dubbels of Eyota and son, Derrick (Patty) Heddlesten of Stewartville; grandchildren, Andrea (Brian) Lehnertz, Audra (Kyle) Knaup, Beth Bastron, Anthony (Kyla) Heddlesten, Teala (Matt) Amberg; great-grandchildren, Blake & Landon Lehnertz, Genavieve, Emelia and Arya Knaup, Benjamin Bastron, C.J. & Lars Heddlesten and Leo Amberg; 3 sisters, Marlene (Tom) Maloy of Lake City, Alice (Fred) Passe of Wabasha and Patricia Capps of Texas; 1 brother, Floyd Riester of Rochester.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 sister, Mary Eversman.

Funeral service is Tuesday, October 18, 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plainview with Pastor Phil Augustine officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Plainview. Visitation is Tuesday, 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
